Dräger Luxfer 4500 PSI / 45 Minute Blue Cylinder
Air management should feel controlled, predictable, and fast – even when conditions are demanding.
Cylinder changes are a routine part of the job, and when the system is designed correctly, they happen smoothly without interrupting the work or breaking focus.
The Dräger PSS AirBoss SCBA is engineered to make air changes deliberate and repeatable, using interfaces that work naturally with gloves on and visibility reduced.
The Quick Connect (QC) system replaces traditional threaded connections with a secure push-to-connect interface that locks the cylinder into place with a single, confident motion. There is no alignment struggle, no cross-threading, and no fine motor task that disappears under stress.
Disconnecting the cylinder is just as straightforward. A short, controlled movement – a quarter-turn and lift – releases the connection cleanly, allowing firefighters to transition efficiently without fighting the interface.
With routine use, cylinder changes can be completed in seconds, keeping crews moving and minimizing interruption to the operation.
Once installed, the cylinder is secured by the AirBoss cam-lock retention system. This design eliminates loose straps, buckles, and dangling hardware, holding the bottle firmly in place while maintaining a tight, stable profile. The cylinder remains secure during climbing, crawling, and aggressive movement, without the need for constant readjustment.
Quick cylinder change is not about saving a few seconds in ideal conditions. It is about maintaining rhythm, reducing friction, and ensuring air management never interrupts the work itself.
AirBoss is built so changing air stays simple, secure, and out of the way – exactly where it belongs
